EAA One Week Wonder 2027: Building History in Seven Days
At the Aspiring Aviators Aero Club, we believe hands-on experience is the best teacher. In July 2027, our youth members and mentors are taking that belief to the largest aviation event in the world: EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
As part of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s flagship One Week Wonder project, our students will join forces with builders from across the globe to construct a fully flyable aircraft from scratch—in just seven days.
What is the One Week Wonder?
The One Week Wonder is one of the most ambitious community aircraft builds in general aviation. Over the course of AirVenture, thousands of attendees, volunteers, and young builders come together to pull rivets, fit aluminum, assemble components, and taxi a completed kit plane by the end of the week.
For our Central Florida students, this isn’t just a trip—it’s the ultimate real-world application of everything they learn in our Winter Haven hangar.
How You Can Support the 2027 Expedition
Sending a team of local youth, mentors, and tools from Central Florida to Oshkosh requires significant logistics, travel support, and materials. You can help turn this dream into reality for our students:
Monetary Donation: Help fuel the One Week Wonder project with a financial contribution. Every gift plays a vital role in building an aircraft while providing hands-on learning opportunities for future aviators.

From Winter Haven to Oshkosh
Our path to the One Week Wonder started small—with a handful of local students building basic workbenches in an empty hangar. Today, our members work directly on aircraft maintenance, sheet metal fabrication, and engine mechanics.
